When I purchased my computer the partition for the C and D drives was already in place so I went with it. When I did my system backup I put in on my D drive not realizing how much space that took up. Anyway my D drive is full so everytime I start my computer a little box pops up stating my D drive is full.

Its annoying. Is there anyway I can disable it or transfer more space onto my D drive? Or should I just reformat the D drive and be done with it.

When I bought my computer I did get the Recovery disks with it so I'm not even sure what I saved on my D drive. When I click my D drive the only thing on it is Recovery so am I taking up that space with exactly what's on the CDs that came with my computer?

My D drive has 7.67GB with 6.14 mb free. Ouch
My C drive has 290GB with 221GB free

    :confused
Any advice would be appreciated and I'm slow on the computer info so be gentle.

    Thanks,
    Avalon

The files on your D drive aren't necessary. If you stick your recovery disk in, it will use the files on the D drive to return your computer to exactly the way it was when you first turned it on (complete with useless free trial software.) If I were you, I'd delete the entire partition, then use windows Disk management to extend your C drive, effectively giving you 10gb more usable hard drive space. Then, I'd set a system restore point and a backup point so you're covered.

If you simply want to be rid of the popup, run CCleaner (avalible here at MG) or Disk Cleanup (program files > accessories > system tools) to free up some disk space. If you want to know how to turn the warning off, google "how to disable low disk space warning windows _____" or post your operating system here and we'll be glad to help you out.

I googled your suggestion and followed the steps on how to turn off the low disk space warning at the Vista forums and it hasn't stopped the popups. There was 14 steps in total but it didn't work.

As for deleting the partition, I don't know how to go about doing that. Is it a difficult thing?

    Thanks,
