Duel Moniters Problem.

I just got my moniter set up today.. Only problem is. When i join a game. Everything in the 2nd Moniter shifts all the way to the Right. So u cant really see it. LIke i have Aim, Xfire, Teamspeak, Ect open. And ill join a game. and it shifts over to teh right where i can just see the corners of teamspeak. and the rest i cant see... anyone else have duel moniters?? what do u useally do?? any help to fix it or whatever. and is there a was to like Alttab like to that moniter while keepin the game open in the defualt moniter? so that i can serf the web or whateva??

 

I use dual monitors, What kind of graphics card ya using? Drivers too?
Are you useing clone view/split view/separate windows, what?

Look in Desktop manager in settings, should be couple of things.
Should be option to apply to prevent windows from opening off screen & or another to auto align windows, or something of that nature.

I've seen driver's conflict mess up viewable windows.

What you're describing is EXTREMLY common with dual display setups. In fact it happens even on linux. There is no FIX per say because it isn't even considered an error by most.

The reson the monitor shifts is because you run the game at a diffrent resolution then you run your desktop at. If you set the game to the same resolution you have your desktop set to it will not shift at all. Myself I just solve it by moving the windows I want to see to the left (onto the left monitor) before opening a game and that way when they shift right, they shift to the right monitor so I can still see them.

You may want to check out ultramon though. ( http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/ ) It' one of the few programs for dual display that really tries to work out the issues people have. Plus if you post in the forum, if you don't act stupid you'll generally get a reply from the author of the program and he does take suggestions seriously. He has been wokring on solving this one for awhile and I think he's said the next version of his program would solve this, but I may be wrong. I personal use his app for the second taskbar it can provide because it makes things so much easier to manager if each screen has its own taskbar. Plus it's a nice site to get dual display help from.

The alt tabbing thing is another common thing dual display users want. As of yet there is no solution. There is talk about it over at the ultramon forums. He has said he's attempting something for his next version but he doesn't know if it will work.

It's sort of sad right now. Dual display support is a little weak, MS has said they were working on some better support for the next version of windows. So who knows maybe they'll actually manage it. If not your best bet is ultramon right now.
