    I am/have been infected with dumprep 0 -k.

    Protection apps used:
    -Kapersky Internet Security
    -AVG Anti-spyware
    -Mcafee Siteadvisor

    Apps (other)
-Spybot S&D 1.4 with all current updates (don't use tea timer)
-Ad-aware SE Personal 1.6 with all current updates
-Spyware Blaster with all current updates

After letting my mum use my pc to check her emails siteadvisor picked up a red site and I immediately told my mum to get off the computer. After viewing details the site turned out to be a advertising site. She was viewing some flash crap. I then proceeded to scan with Spybot S&D and it found a infection so I removed it (details listed it was a trojan that redirects to advertising sites). Before I did the spybot scan though I noticed "dumprep 0 -k" under msconfig in startup. I've unticked it and also ran a scan with AVG anti-spyware (critical system scan) and done a scan with Kaspersky (critical area scan) with both reporting no threats.

I was wondering though if I there are any other measures I could take though. My mum is a complete noob to computers and I always monitor her usage which is why I'm considering making a restricted user account for her to use. I was wondering if there is a way or method I could use to remove dumprep from startup entries (removing it from the list).

    Welcome to MajorGeeks!

    This is not an infection.

dumprep 0 -k or dumprep 0 -u are used in connection with memory dumps. You can disable these by - right clicking on My Computer, selecting Properties and then the Advanced tab. Click on the Settings button in 'Startup and Recovery'. In the bottom pane - under 'Write debugging information' - click on the down arrow and then select 'None' - OK your way out.
