Dungeon Siege 2 won't recognize my video card.

Whenever I go into the video config options in the start menu for Dungeon Siege 2 and its expansion it says that my video card isn't supported. I have a nvidia GeForce 6800XT 256mb PCI-E and I was wondering if there is anyway I can fix this. The game plays at a poor framerat mostly around 20fps. I was poking around online and some people were having problems with GeForce 7 series cards as well. Is the problem just simply that GPG hasn't added support for newer hardware or is it a driver issue?

Drivers is always first. Update not only your video card, but your motherboard drivers.

It could just be the game doesn't support your card.
Or you could try and do what major attitude suggests and update your drivers.

I installed the new drivers for both my motherboard and my video card and there is still no difference. Even lowering the in-game settings doesn't seem to get much of a performance gain. I can't believe the developers wouldn't support newer hardware especially since they just released an expansion pack.
