Duplicate device manager heading, usb probs

After installing the ali 2.0 pci card (m5273) , i have 2 usb controller headings in the device manager (one called "Universal Serial Bus Controller" and one called "Universal Serial Bus controllers"). The first one one contains the 2.0 root hub and enhanced host controller, which I just installed and the other contains the "open host controllers" and "usb root hub" listings.

for some v annoying reason all the traffic (even from devices plugged into the new 2.0 card) is going through the slow (not 2.0/enhanced) controller.

any idea on how to fix this? so i can access the 2.0 speeds with my fast devices (e.g., Canon SD630 camera, iPod)?

    also:
    - i'm running on an old Asus P4S533 motherboard with the fussy SIS 7001 chipset.
    - i've updated the Ali drivers to 1.52
    - i flashed the bios to the 1010 version
    - i've tried deleting all the usb hubs & controllers

Any help with this would be great. I'm running in circles.

    Tx,
    zuzu
