   How do I find out what speeds my dvd writer is capable of?

   A few options are
   
   1. If you have EVEREST installed, run it and click Storage > Optical Drives > click your drive and it will report all the max speeds that it will handle per cd/dvd type
   
   2. Nero Info Tool
   
   3. Check drive manufacturers site for full specs
   
   Note: write speeds are also dependent on the type of media used, meaning sometimes you will not get full write speeds from various media be that rated speeds/cheap bulk disks etc
