DVD backups with CD-R/RW???

Is is possible to back up my DVD's if I only have the CD-R/RW drive (and a regular CD drive)? A friend told me it was do-able, and considering some of my DVD collection is now unplayable, I thought it would be worth checking on.

I am pretty certain that you need a DVD burner to write to DVD's.

You could convert them as Video CDs (VCD) or SuperVideo CD (SVCD) that could be played on a standard DVD player.

 

How do I do that?

You will need a lot of CDR's.

It would be cheaper and easier buying a DVD burner, but that's up to you.

 

Sorry, didn't realize they were links (having a senile day )....think you're right, might be easier to get a DVD-R.

If it's only one or two DVD's, it would be OK, otherwise buy a DVD burner.

Especially these days, they cost very little.
