DVD- Burner Help PLEASE!

(alright, im a guy that had the ! near the cd burner in device manager and eventually thought it was dead, so i got a dvd burner and noticed same ! is near the dvd burner)

well i noticed this which may be the problem

i heard i need to change the drive to the standard windows one, but how?

the thing is, i dont think i can by going to location..because you see, its in system32 and for some reason it isnt there in WINDOWS..i tried making a folder with that name, but it said there is one with it...and i dont have hide certain folders on, so it should show all

any help? ;_;

 

Geeze, I don't know forsure but it sounds like one of your services is turned off. I cant say forsure but I think thats what your problem is. Honestly I havn't dealt with DVD issues before, so I cant tell you exactly what to do. Hopefully me saying this will bump you back to the top of the list so someone can.
to get to services click Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
Look down the list(If noone helps you first) and look for anything to do with DVD burning.
I don't think it's IMAPI service but I could be wrong.
I hope someone can help you better.

 

Uninstall it through device manager and reboot. Windows should then install it's drivers through the install hardware wizard.
