DVD burners and stuff

i just got a NEC ND-6750 dual layer dvd burner of dang near free!! ($5.00!! Dumb coworker) It works and all ,his laptop had a power tool acccident-don't ask. Anyway is there any thing special i need for it,like drivers? It's going into a dell inspiron 1100.(I've read that any slimeline will fit in it.) Any other installation problems i might inccur? the faceplate is black and Dell's is gray ...so... they look like it will fit though haven't takin it out yet. ANY help will GREATLY be appreciated!!!!

 

The operating system should pick it up when you boot...........that's about it.
