Whats the best way to copy a DVD. At the moment I'm using CloneDVD, but it seems to take ages just creating image files and Processing. It tells me I've over an hour and a half to wait. Has to be a quicker way.

You really cant do much to speed up the process. that is a lot of information you have to burn at one time.

IT all depends at what speed your dvd burner works.
How much information you are going to burn
and also how fast your computer is.

For example my dvd burner max speed is 4x
and because of that it will also take me a long time to burn.

Also if your dvd burner is connected via a usb port then
make sure you have a 2.2 usb instead of a 1.1
which will also slow down the speed at which you burn

THe most important thing is to know what speed your burner burns at

well my DVD-burner does about 4 gigs in 20 minutes, so no problem there, Just kinda annoying. Trying out dvdXcopy now, seems to be the buss

    that sound about right.

That is even beter than the speed I get. I

Clone dvd will not burn however copies of your dvd's (hollywood movies)
because of the protection in them.

    Buffer underruns
Ah, buffer underruns... These used to be the bane of every CD burner's life, but with improvements in technology they are, thankfully, becoming increasingly rare. They still happen though, so it's worth optimising your system to make sure they don't. When a laser burns a CD, it must do it in one continuous stream, and to do this it must be fed a constant supply of data. To help do this, CD recorders have a buffer which stores the data read from the hard drive (or another CD if doing CD-to-CD recording) and feeds it to the laser. If the system is unable to supply data quickly enough, the laser runs out of data to write and a buffer underrun error occurs. Result - one frisbee/drinks mat/table proper-upper... Modern drives have been given increasingly larger buffers to minimise the problem, and a 1Mb or 2Mb buffer is fairly common. However, hiccups in the computer system itself can slow down the transfer of data to the drive's buffer; this is now the most common cause of buffer underrun, particularly when writing at high speeds. To prevent it, you need to reduce any activity which might cause the computer to stop or slow down the transfer of data to the CD drive. This means defragmenting the hard drive, switching off software which runs in the background such as the Task Scheduler, screen savers, anti-virus software and so on, and refraining from running other applications while the system is burning the CD.

low memory will also crash a program
conflicting burning programs will also cause this
not properly updated software will also cause this
    not properly updated drivers

there just are too many things that could cause this

    What os do you have
How much memory do you have
what kind of burner do you have

burner one is a pionneer 1o6

Both programs you are using require at least a 500mhz computer
