    Hi all
My first post here, so hope I get it right,
I have an ACER 1511 Aspire laptop. (AMD 64 Athlon)
    (40 gig HD)
    ( 768 ram)
    (GeForce 448Go 64Mb)

It is about 2 years old and whilst used a lot, the DVD has not been used very much at all.
Problem is that the drive will now not play any DVDs at all, and only some CDs that I have written. Originally it worked perfectly. It sounds to me as though the drive just does not spin fast enough, the process light comes on for around 10 secs then just goes out. When i look at the drive it says there is no disc in the PC. Sometimes i hear a slow clicking sound.
Is this something i can try to fix or is it a dead drive?
    All comments appreciated

it looks like that your dvd lens a dirty, try to clean them up, buy a cleaning disk(they are not very expensive) insert cleaning cd into the drive and it automaticaly will clean it.
