i have a number of disks that i would like to erase and empty of all info stored I.E old programs and files.

can anyone suggest a good cleaner to do this job, i have Killdisk but am not sure if i will be able to re-use them if i use that?

the reason i do not just overwrite them is that they are not full and anything i load will go straight to free space and i would like them empty.

This should be an option on whatever burning software that you are using. Which program is it? :) Please note that it will only work if the disks are R/W, either fomat.

Nero has an Erase Disk option. If you fire up Nero Smart Start, select DVD in the small top window, then select Extras on the far right, one of the choices is Erase Disk. Choose it, be sure the disk to be erased is in the drive, and when the small Erase window opens, select the drive, and choose an erase method (either quick or full) and that's it. Quick erase takes about 90 seconds on a DVD, full erase takes about 17 minutes.
