    Hi all,

I recently purchased a 500GB external HD so i could copy all my DVD's too and watch them through my pioneer DVD player via a usb port.
The trouble is, i've not no idea how to do this!!! :-o
So far i've search the net and purchased some software called DVD cloner 8, which happily copies my DVD's to an ISO file or seperate TS files.
    Now i'm stuck!!

My DVD player will play MP3, WMA, JPEG and DiVX files.

I'm looking for the easiest way of either converting the ISO / TS file into one of these format while maintain the best possible picture and easy of use (ie it would be great if the files could play continuesly like when they are on a DVD and not split into 15 different file which i would have to click on each and everyone every 5 mins)

I would be grateful for any suggestions and advice - anything to save my sanity!!!

    Cheers

There are tones of good programs out there that will turn a DVD into a Divx file, which is the only other type of Video it seems your player supports. Do a Google search on "DVD to Divx." You'll get lots of results. Here's one site with lots of tools listed to get you started:

Which model of Pioneer do you have? I've never used a player that reads USB but the Video TS files are the normal format for a DVD so the player should recognize those files and be able to play them like a normal DVD. I'd have to look at the manual to see what the options are. [How are you getting it to play for 5 minutes at a time? You might try selecting the IFO file and see if that starts playback like a normal DVD]

Converting to divx or xvid type avi files would work but it is a time consuming process. I'm not sure you will want to do it for a large number of DVDs.

Thanks abekl - will have a look on net for some software to convert. If i convert to Divx - is there any downgrade on qaulity and will it be 1 complete file? :confused

Hi sach2, i have a Pioneer DCS-363 ( http://stuff.tv/review/Pioneer-DCS-363/). At the moment the Video TS files are slit down into 1GB chunks, so i have to clink one and watch for 30 mins and then click on the next one) - i will give your suggestion a go and see if it works
    Cheers:wave
