DVD Drive, Cant change region!

Hi Guys,

I have a Acer Aspire SA80, which has a Dual Layer 16x16 DVDRW in it, now when I go into System, hardware, then to change the DVD region on my player becuase it's never been set and has 5 changes left, I go to change it to AU, and wham it gives me an error...

Anyone know how to rectify this?

 

Mine has allways worked for me, what does the error say?

 

DVD Region Change Error: Unable to update region settings, Please make sure the drive contains a region 4 media and you have administration Priveledge.

I am the Admin and signed is as such (No other accounts on here, guest is disabled)...

Dunno whats going on...

 

If you are able to watch dvd's, i wouldnt worry too much, could your region be included in another reigion?

 

Thing is it hasn't been set to any region as of yet, so thats why I was trying to set it. As for playing movies, I honestly have not tryed to play a DVD as of yet.

I 'Must' fix this though, otherwise it will be me and I`ll end up doing something over the top or rip it out and throw it in the trash....

 

How about going region free?
