I am getting an odd error message from my DVD drive. If I click on the drive (D) WITHOUT a CD in it, it says "please insert a cd into drive D". If I click on the drive WITH a cd in the drive I get : D:\ is not accessible- Incorrect function.
I have tried the little "Fixit" program that's out there and it wont run.

What can I do to fix this issue?
This all began when I was trying to make several dvd's. I am using DVD-RW disks.

    I appreciate your help.

Right-Click on the drive and select Properties
Then click the Recording Tab and be sure that "Enable CD Recording On This Drive" is selected.

Adding to plodr's advice (and based on your statement you're burning several DVDs), it's usually a good idea to give the drive a rest after each batch of 3-4 discs.

During the burning process the drive generates a lot of heat. By giving it a few minutes to cool down you'll likely extend its life.
