DvD Drive not a boot device

So first of all hello to everyone, newbie at this forum

Secondly, the real stuff I have a problem with booting Windows on my pc.
So the story goes: I recently bought off a friend a 2 year used configuration (which hadn't had any issues before) with everything inside but the HDD and DvD Drive. I used my old HDD and DVD Drive naturally and reassembled this configuration. Then I turned on the pc and in first few seconds everything was normal, until it asked me to insert a boot CD/DVD in the boot device. So I inserted my Windows 7 DVD and puff... nothing happened. Drive didn't recognize the DVD, as if I haven't inserted anything. So I restarted the pc to check in Bios if my boot priority list was in order.
And there I noticed one really strange thing. The DVD Drive was 1st in the order list, BUT it wasn't the drive I had. It was the drive my friend used before he sold me this configuration.

So to summarize, Bios didn't recognize a new DVD drive in his system.
My question to you is, how do I configure Bios to recognize my "new" DVD drive?

P.P.S I didn't enlist my configuration as I tought it wouldn't be needed for this sort of thing, but I will if required

Not sure if this will solve the problem, but you might try resetting the BIOS by unplugging the PC, removing the coin cell battery on the motherboard for about one minute then reinserting it. This should clear the BIOS' memory of the old DVD drive.
