DVD Express not working

Have mediamatics DVD express installed with sony computer windows XP. Had to reinstall windows on new hard drive. Having problems playing DVDs. Getting error message - Key exchange for DVD copy protection failed. Tried reinstalling the software without any success.
Any ideas or suggestions?

No I am not trying override copy protection. I had to reinstall windows on new hard drive as my previous hard drive died. Now i am not able to play DVDs as the software gives this error message. I tried to reinstall the software from Application recovery without any success.
I went on to NSC site but only information I get is they have discontinued the software but no hint of any updates or troubleshoot for this problem. IBM site gives info for thinkpad with DVD express with similar problem but unfortunately Sony site does not give any ionfo or update.
Question is why is the software now acting up which was previously working with same OS? How can I fix it?
