Not sure if this is a software or hardware problem.
This is a Dell Vostro 1000 with power dvd software.
When playing dvds, it might go a long time, or freeze every few minutes. Sometimes I can move the mouse and the picture will continue, sometimes it won't.
The sound keeps playing, but the picture freezes.
If I fast forward or back, sometimes it will not stop, and I can't even exit out of it. I have to shut laptop off and restart.
    Ideas?

You could have a virus on your pc run a scan to see if that's what is causeing your freezing. But this could all so be some thing eles your software could be out of date.Check your Direct X and see if it is up to date the latest is 9.0C or 10.Or get the latest up date on the item you are useing to view your DVD's.

    Hope this helps;)
