Dvd Gone Bad ?

    It seems my Liteon dvd rom drive 166S has gone bad. Light flashes disk spins but doesn't read. Keeps saying please insert disk. Anyone have any suggestions that I may not have already tried before I order a new one. Also any suggestions for a new drive that may be better than this one. Thanks
