Dvd Player

Had reinstall win98 and dvd player will not play dvds, it is listed in the device manager. Is there some software for making it play? do not have a recovery disk, just win 98 se

 

I recommend VLC Media Player. This is a must have IMO. It has just about every codec you could ever need built in. I've never found a file this app won't play, and that includes DVDs. Since you are on a fresh install of Windows, I would expect that you are missing the codec required to play the DVD.

Download and install Windows Media Player 9 from www.windowsupdate.com. Win98 doesn't support Media Player 10, so 9 will have to do. It worked great on my friends older Pentium2 400mhz with 256mb RAM.....

WMP9 didn't do it(?).... hmmmm.... my bad. I'm probably confused (more of a lifestyle than a temporary state of mind - LOL )... Must have been thinking of something else... Anyway, check the Multimedia downloads here at MajorGeeks and you should be able to find something that will work....
