I recently built a computer, today i ran into strange problem. My CD/DVD not working, Device Manager Says Driver is corrupt or missing code 39. I went to update drivers and nothing, i even went to google looked up the device, and downloaded new drivers and nothing. I uninstalled the device and rebooted and have windows pick the new hardware, Nothing. Last thing, i opened the case disconnect the device, and plugged it back in, nothing, I went into Bios in setup, and the device is there, but when i go into windows, it tells me driver is corrupt.

    Any Suggestions Please

    Thanks

Always good to rub a "defective" CD with some Methylated Spirits or similar with a tissue, about 66% of dodgy CD/DVDs' started working for me doing this.
