Dvd-r drive won't burn

Wouldn't burn legit dvd's for me all of a sudden. I used an older version of nero, then when the problem occured, upgraded to the newest version but still got the same problem. Nero records the image and when it is about to begin to burn, it stops saying that it can't burn at 2.4x.

If I get a new DVD Burner, will the problem persist?

 

I would try a firmware update, go back to the programs that worked, if you are using the same disc's that worked before you might have a bad drive.

it also could be a problem with the disk. sometimes with a bundle of disks you might get one or two that don't work. also, why is it trying to burn at 2.4x? At a minimum it should burn at 4x shouldn't it? Also check the file your trying to burn (i.e. trying to burn a winrar archive as a .iso image in nero)
