DVD+R drive

I have a dell dimension 2400 and just bought Liteon 16X Internal DVD+RW ReWriter and I got it working but I have no sound. I connected the host interface and Power. The guide said I need to connect the analog audio. Where would I hook up the cable and what kind of cable would I need?

If this drive was a replacement for an existing drive then there should have been a small round grey cable that connected to the back of the previous drive and then connected either to the sound card or the motherboard.

If this drive was an addition to your system then there should have been a small grey cable included with th drive. This cable connects to the back of the drive marked "Analog" and then the other end to your sound card or motherboard. Hopefully you have 2 inputs on your sound card or MB. They might be labled "CD in" and "Aux in".

 

My CD Driver does not have the cable but the sound still works and mthe DVD+R drive did not come with the cable!

 

actually there is no need in this cable. You know, it connects the CD/DVD drive straight to your sound card and you can play cd audio without any software audio player. If you need this feature, you need to buy this cable.

 

I have a friend hooking me up with the cable I need.

 

it has no problems playing cds just no sound with dvds.

 

I got the wire and still have no sound
