    Hi,
Is there a workaround or something else I can try.
I have a disc where once the door closes I hear it slowly chugging along and take ages. It takes so long I just eject it.
Other discs are fine & there are no scratches etc on it.

Is this a factory made DVD or a home burned one? Factory disks are "pressed" just like a vinyl record and the 1s and 0s are based on they are actually pressed in the layers. Home disks are "burned" where magnetic particles are "arranged" to represent 1s and 0s. Magnetic 1s and 0s can be re-arranged. Pressed 1s and 0s cannot.

Either way, if other disks work fine, then it is hard to blame the drive. Have you tried the disk in a different drive?

DVDs can be washed with mild soap and water, then carefully dried and polished with a clean micro-fiber cloth as used for eyeglasses.

Do not wipe in a circle. Wipe from the center to the outer edge in a straight line.

Still the same. just chugs along.
Even when I see the dvd logo in my computer etc I right click then it goes back to hibernation again.
