DVD-ROM not reading

Not sure if this is a hardware question or not, but here goes:
I have recorded PS2 online gameplay with my DVD recorder using a Maxell DVD-RW video disc, and now I wanted to put it on my PC by inserting the disc into the DVD-ROM. After the disc is in it doesnt auto start and when I go to my computer to the DVD-ROM drive to open it I get a message box saying, Disk is not formatted (the yellow exclamation point,error?) and the message reads, Windows cannot read from this disc. The disc might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with Windows.
Is this disc not formatted properly and if so what do I do to format it properly?
Or is it that I do not have the correct software to open and run the disc from my DVD-ROM?
Is it possible the disc I'am using is not compatible for PC installing?

When I put in a regular DVD(Gladiator), it plays with no problem. The problem is with the DVD-RW disc when it goes into my DVD-ROM.

 

What format are you using to record the DVD?

 

I'am assuming it was recorded in VIDEO mode. On the disc info were it says format it says VIDEO and it can be formatted in VR mode. I dont know what VR mode is and I'm not really sure what VIDEO mode is, when it comes to the format of a disc. I know what I'll do, I'll record the next session of my playstation2 online play(socom2) in the VR mode of the formatting and see if that is the correct format. I'll let you know how that goes, and thanks for the help....
