Dvd-rw/dl drive not working properly

When I put a disc in the drive, it acts as if nothing is there. It spins, but will not read. I click on the d:\ and it says please insert a disc.

I thought at first it was the laser, but when I reboot the pc with a disc in the drive it will come up but I can't open the files or write files to a blank one.

I tried going into device manager and repairing/updating drivers and it says nothing is wrong and they are up to date. I use this drive alot and it just randomally just stopped working.

 

So I bought a new dvd-rw drive and it read a dvd movie right away, but now again will not read anything. I tried the wire in another pc and it worked fine arghhhh.
