I have a Sony Vaio with a DVD Drive and a DVDRW drive. My DVDRW Drive is a HL-DT-ST-DVD-RW-GWA-4082B. It no longer reads dvd discs and I can no longer burn anything to a dvd on it. I had not changed anything on my computer, installed all updates, even did a complete system recovery where I reinstalled all the original hardware, etc... and still it will not work. I can open a cd and explore the items off a cd in this drive. Also, I can burn to a cd on this drive. In the device manager it says it is working properly, but it says it is a cdrom drive in the device id area. Please help me!!! I am new to using this forum and don't know if I am adding enough info or am doing this correctly, but I would like to figure this out. I am using XP SP2. Thanks. Ybettm93:confused
