DVD-RW drive problems

    I have strange problems with my DVD-RW drive. I burned a CD-R with Nero successfully. When I put the CD back into my laptop it shows up maybe every 1 out of 5 times. When I am finally able to explore the CD and try to copy files to my HD, the copying freezes and the DVD-RW drive has disappeared from My Computer view. After this none of my CD's work. I am only able to see the drive after reboot.

    I have no idea what is going on, all help greatly appreciated.
