DVD-/+RW Problem

hey everyone, umm well i do a fair bit of backing up on re writable dvds and they are good quality sony ones, but anyways ill tell you my prob, basically ive been using these 4 DVDRW's for a month or so, 2 of them have been deleted and written on several times and the other 2 had only been written on once. Well after a few times the 2 that i always was deleting and re writing on just stopped being read as rewritables, everytime i go to delete either one of them they say they arent RW's so im like ok... maybe they got corrupts, coz i know some dvds just die after a few uses... but then i tried the other 2 that had only been used once and it wouldnt even delete those... i used my laptop to delete one of the dvd's and it deleted fine but now when i go to burn anything on it using nero or the default winburning program it says ""the cd/dvd is not writable or is full"" something around those lines, would this mean maybe a faulty dvd drive? being a pioneer i expected it to be pretty good... thanks for any help.

hmmm... you can't rewrite indefinately, but the standard is 1000 times.

I'd try different disks a few more times, both in the suspect drive and in your laptop before I labeled your optical drive as the problem.

 

Why are you using Nero for a rewritable drive?

You should be able to access these directly from windows explorer, with all the benfits (?) that entails.

 

ive tried a few different discs now, using nero and explorer they keep saying the same thing on my computer but on my laptop they work fine, and its also working fine with normal dvd-r/+r's any ideas?

to studiot, ive found nero to be very reliable in most tasks including rewriting and deleting rewritables.
