DVD to avi?

could you please tell me of a program that is easy to use that allows me to rip my dvd's into avi files and that can compress them to less than a gig?

They usuallly have good instructions & use a lot of freeware.
Your looking to rip a dvd to less than a gig, look for guides on divx & xvid compression of ripped video.

 

i still cant find anything on there thanks for trying .

and on top of that vi would like to find something that can convert vob files into avi and compress it to a cd

please please help

Using Divx you can compress a movie to a cd that can be played on a PC.. but not a standalone dvd player.. for that you need VCD (video cd) and it takes 2 vcds for a feature length film.

If you want to find something..read the guides.. they usually explain step by step what software, where to get it, and how to use it.
