dvd won't play

    Hi

    What error messages do you get when trying to play DVDs in WMP11, if any?


    Likelyhood is you dont have a codec installed to play DVD format, as its not installed as standard but this codec pack should help and dont mind its name as it works in XP too, link now in post below.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the quick reply. I don't get any messages or errors. In fact nothing happens so I tried to manually activate the D drive from Win Exp. Nothing shows in the window.

    I didn't understand the link you provided. If you could redirect me again I would be greatful.
    I both:
    cyberlink Power DVD 8
    and ffdshow
    trying to get a Free and proper codex but they don't seem to work.

    How to hear from you again.

    also could try VLC which is free standalone player with the codecs built in.


    Do other CDs, music data and data DVDs work OK or not?
