DVD writer error

Trying to copy dvd, and getting error message 05/27/00
Running windows XP,I have also a laptop same OS with the same results, is the disk protected? If yes is there any way around this (this disk is a copy from a friend)

Please can we get some more information from you?

1. What is the type of DVD? Is it a DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, or DVD-RAM?

2. Do you have any information on what program your firend used to create the disk?

 

You sure that you have given us the correct error report (error message 05/27/00) as this looks like 27th May 2000 ?? but I could be wrong.

The disk that I am trying to copy is DVD-R, I don't know what software he used but I will try and find out, I did try to copy it to a DVD-R as well and am using Roxio Easy Cd Creat have copied the error message as shown on the pc

I have copied the error message as shown on the pc,
I have also tried downloading onto the hard-drive and then onto DVD same error message.

No problem copying other disks!

Just tried copying onto a DVD+R with this error message
"Invalid Field In Parameter List" ()05/26/00), I am just wondering if he has done some sort of protection on his disk (that I am trying to copy)
Any thoughts!

 

When you copy the DVD via the hard drive, when does the error occur? When copying from the source DVD to the hard drive, or when copying from the hard drive to the blank DVD?

The error occurs when I try to copy from the hard drive to the blank DVD, I have also tried drag to disk with the same result.
I have used 2 different pc's when trying to do this, so dont think its a pc problem,
I just thought maybe I am setting something up wrong or just missing something!!

Hi all,

I decided to copy the DVD using another software program and after some reading through various forums I decided to download DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink and hey presto I have managed to copy the disk fine.
I do think it was the disk that I was trying to copy that was at fault.:confused

I dont fully understand why my Roxio let me down, :cry but I am pleased that I have got there in the end, so thanks to everyone who tried to help and maybe my answer may help somebody else with a similar problem
