DVD Writing,

Hello,

Any ideas on why when I try to write dvds, I copy them from a dvd to the hdd, and they increase in size, and then when I try to write them to a blank dvd, it cannot fit, is there any sort of compression that needs to be done,

Karthi, I'm not 100% up on this as I have a only just got into DVD writing, I need the major storage space it provides over CDR for my work, so while i'm typing this, time is ticking on me installing the DVDRW thats just been delivered

If you're copying movies, they are recorded on dual layer discs (8.5gb) while most recordable DVDs are single layer (4.7gb). DVD Shrink will fix you problem nicely. Or you could buy a dual layer burner like me and hope someone starts selling discs for it eventually.

Nope your post just re-affirms that this is the app to use to make a dual layer DVD fit onto a single layer DVD
