Hi, I was converting AVI files into DVD using DVDsanta when I noticed on Noton System Doctor my CPU usage was at 100% for the whole hour and forty mins, is this ok or could it be a problem with DVDsanta?

If you didn't get an error, then it generally shouldn't be a problem.

Capturing, converting and editing video is about the most intensive thing you can do on a PC, and even the most powerful PC can swallow all available resources.

System Doctor is also very resource hungry on it's own.

What are your system specs?

You would be better killing any process temporarily like System Doctor that are not vital to the system while you are encoding video's.

 

I've not had any error messages, I was just worried about the high CPU usage, could doing a lot of these video programs shorten the life of the CPU? My system specs are,

Asus K8VSE deluxe motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 2800+
512MB DDR400
120GB Hard drive
Pioneer 108 DVD writer
256MB Radeon 9600XT

Your System Specs are fine.

Don't worry about "shortening the life of the CPU", that's what they're there for, to be used.

Just don't have needless programs running in the background while encoding, and try doing it when the PC is idle.
