I have my monitor running from the DVI output of my v adapter. Is DVI less in the way of color quality than analog?

The DVI signal delivers an improved picture provided you have a DVI capable display. Since you are using a converter to attach an analog monitor to a DVI output, you will see no difference in quality between the DVI and analog. However, if you had a DVI monitor, you would notice the difference.

Yeah, the color using DVI is going to be a little bit brighter and more accurate. However, I think that you get used to whatever monitor you use and don't notice it unless you have a DVI monitor sitting right next to an analog one.
