Hi all. I know that dvpapi.exe is not malware (from what I've read), but I disabled it since I have AVG installed, and I am trying to disable as much as possible in hopes of speeding my computer back up (it's been "hanging" quite a bit lately). My computer now seems to run a lot faster. Does anyone see any reason why I shouldn't completely uninstall dvpapi.exe, and it's associated software? AVG doesn't need it to run effectively, does it?

    Hello, yturieow

It seems you have some remnant cleanup to do.

Hi Dr. M. Thanks for replying.
I have the whole program (Authentium), although I don't know how I got it. I was just concerned about deleting it, because I read that some antiviruses use the dvpapi process. I just wanted to make sure AVG wasn't one of those.
