Dvr Ms

I am trying to record movies that I want to watch again and again. I did the trial Nero thing, but it was like an old martial arts movie. I have a Sony Vaio RGC44B with Windows MCE and of course the integral tuner hooked up to a Direct TV box. Basically, some things like " Bad Santa " is in DVR-MS format and it will not record it to DVD because big brother thinks I am selling movies. I only want to record for personal use.

Any thoughts ?

 

Thanks. Now once I figure how to switch the files so it can see the files , all will be well.

 

Still having trouble with numerous attempts of burning my dvr ms files.
In the windows media, it tells me write protected and cannot record.
I have the dvd shrink and have tried the trial of nero and quite a few other programs.
I wouldn't mind paying for a program that would work.
Any ideas ?

The problem is the dvr-ms format. This is the Windows Media Center record format.
You need to convert the file to another format first. The only converter I know of is called DVRMSToolbox (Google it). It's free! Once you have this app, convert your dvr-ms recording to .MPG and then burn it to a DVD with Sonic, Roxio, Nero, etc. - any DVD authoring tool.

 

Thank you. I am downloading trial of Nero 7 ultra enhanced and dvrms toolbox and will purchase Nero 7 ultra enhanced if it pans out. Buying from amazon for 59.99 seems to be best price...If I had an older version I could get 20 more off...Thanks for your help.:major
