I installed a Dynex USB 2.0 4 port PCI Host Adapter to a Compaq Presario 5000 Desktop. During installation I received a message that I am missing the usbport.sys file from the Windows Driver Cabinet. How do I resolve this issue?

    Thanks:confused

I'm assuming you're running XP. Below is a screen shot showing the various locations this file was found on my PC (WinXP Pro SP2). Check those locations on your PC; you'll probably need to enable viewing hidden/system files and folders. Open My Computer, click Tools at the top, select Folder Options, click the View tab, scroll down until you see "Show hidden files and folders" and enable it, then look for "Hide protected operating system files/folders" and disable it, click OK. Then copy the file to the location it's needed. If you can't find it anywhere on your PC, I have attached it below as a zip file. Unzip it and copy it to the required location.
    Good luck! :-D
