e-mail error

I switched from xp mail program to Microsoft outlook and I can receive mail no problem but when I try to send mail I get the following error message Mycrosoft outlook could not sign or encrypt this message because you have no certificates which can be used to send from the e-mail address ( which is my e-mail address) also e-mail worked fine before I switched programs. How do i fix this problem

 

i use the same program . sometimes when i have a problem with it i delete the email account and recreate it . usually this sorts it out . go to tools/email account/viewor change an exist account then make sure all the details there are correct

also go to options/send + receive make sure it is set up right

 

i dont use outlook but i imagine this works the same there should be a tab for tools and then options under security you need to uncheck the boxes for
encrypting contents and attachments for all outgoing messages
and
digitally sign all outgoing messages
then apply
hopefully someone who uses outlook will drop in and confirm or deny this

 

the only box checked on mine is the send clear text signed message ....

 

@bern if you are using outlook do you have those security options available
if you get bored you could check those boxes and apply the changes and try to send an e-mail and see if you get the same errors that RJTR is getting

this could help clear up if thats the problem or not

 

The check box is on the Security tab in Options.

Are you using OE or Outlook?

 

hi boom thanx for comin in i was trying to help RJTR who was getting error messages like this when he tried to send mail in outlook

as im using express i wasnt sure if the security options were the same in outlook as my assumption is these boxes are checked

encrypting contents and attachments for all outgoing messages

digitally sign all outgoing messages
and thats the cause of the errors

what do you think and if you use outlook are the security options the same

 

ok if i select the option to encrypt and the next box add digital sign . i get the same message

on my security i have only is : send clear text signed message wheen sending a signed message
