There was a time (last year) when I would get an e-mail if an answer was made to a post of mine.

When I realized it wasn't working, I went to UserCP and checked my Options.

I have receive e-mail from Administrators checked.
In Default Subscription the window says "Instant email notification"
I have receive Enable Private Messages checked, notification when ...etc.

    What's my problem?

Where you checked the Default Email subscription, there is a link to click and see what threads you are actually subscribed to. Click this and see if you have any listed as subscribed. Let us know what it says.

It says subscriptions to 21 threads

And.. in the list of subscribed threads this post is at the top of the list, followed by my previous post which is the one that started me on this quest to 'fix' the e-mail response problem.

OK...to the right of the list of subscribed threads is a Notification colum. Is that checked for each thread and in the drop down box at the bottom of that colum, have you selected "Email notification"?

In the column the word 'Instant' is displayed for each thread, but the little check box is not checked (on any of them).

Check ALL the boxes and select Email notification instead.

OK, I checked all the boxes and changed the drop down selection (Selected Threads:) to 'Instant email notification'

So you should get an email saying I replied to this thread. Check your junk boxes and make sure you have told your email software that emails from majorgeeks.com is to go to your inbox.

I don't screen out spam, so I don't have a 'junk' mailbox. Still no email.

So, I went in (just now) and changed the email addy in my profile to another ISP, domain. Reply to this post and I'll see if that server gets an email.

OK, that worked. Looks like the other domain I was using has put in place a spam filter and is throwing stuff away. I'll have to get in touch with them and find out what's going on.

Thanks for your help with this.

Interesting .....be intrigued to know why they are blocking email from majorgeeks.com confused I'm betting they tell you it isn't a problem at their end though ;)
