My e-mail user is Yahoo. When I started using them, I guess a year or so ago, they were great, Now with all the BS they have created, I have to wait about 2 minutes before the e-mail starts, waiting for a bunch of "chat" fans to materialize . Can I do away with the chatters, I do not chat.

Open Yahoo Messenger - go to "messenger" at top - scroll down to "privacy options" - click "chat" and click "Ignore invitations".

I would set things up using an e-mail download program. Using one, your e-mails are downloaded/uploaded to/from your hard drive to read at your leisure (without any annoying ad banners or chat requests). Most e-mail programs do a better job at filtering out spam as well.

If you already have Outlook or Outlook Express, it's decent and easy to setup. If it doesn't automatically detect your e-mail server settings, Yahoo's help page will guide you through it in just a few minutes.

If you don't have Outlook, Eudora (or other e-mail programs in the download section) is an option:

    Hope this helps. :)

"How do I disable chat and text messaging from my e-mail account?

"On the Chat box click the down arrow and then click Sign out of Chat. That will disable it for you."
