I'm pretty new to all this computering stuff. From what I've seen on the boards, you're all very experienced...and patient. Here's my problem:

I have Incredimail as well as Outlook Express...before you ask, I thought it was fun to have a different mail client, hence my use of Incredimail. Now, I'm having nothing but trouble with it. I keep getting an error message that says that Incredimail has caused a "KERNEL32.DLL" error, whatever that means. So, I haven't been using it. Now, whenever I want to open an attachment (from someone I know of course!) while using Outlook Express, Incredimail opens up the attachment. What should I be doing about this? I really want to uninstall Incredimail since it seems to be useless other than attachment opening, but don't know if I'll be able to open things. Any thoughts? BTW, I'm running Windows ME--yes, I hate it too!!

    TIA,
    Marilynn

Uninstalling incredimail should (supposed too anyway) let you open attachments in Outlook. You may want to run a registry cleaner after uninstalling though. Some programs don't delete all their registry entries.

what version of Outlook are you running?

Thanks for the quick response. I'm running Outlook 6. I see that there's another reply to my thread....I'm hoping that it'll explain how to do that registry thingy you were referring to...I'm living up to my User Name...totally a newbie.

Just decided after a couple of months of running Incredib******s on a machine, ( and finding your posts on the subject v amusing), that I'd get rid. Found your instructions and enthusiasm inspiring. I can't remember when I enjoyed a 'search & destroy' mission quite as much.:D

watch it turn round and bite me now............actually it can bite me.

The link that Ezaxs gave you is one of the best registry cleaners. Just download it, and run the program. It will list all registry entries that you should be able to delete. It will also back them up so if there are any problems, you can restore them, so the first time, do a "deep" scan and select/fix all of them.

Don't run it until you have uninstalled Incredimail though.
