E6600 On 680i

Hello I have a core 2 duo e6600 on an ecs pn2 sli2+ 680i motherboard. Anyways I recently installed liquid cooling. Its doing good so far I had my processor at 3.4 and it wasnt over 40c. I just cant seem to get it higher. I used this guide http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/747/747606p3.html. I think my mcp is overheating after my pc would either not boot or get the blue screen of death that temp would be around 58 f. My system specs are Core 2 Duo E6600. Ecs Pn2 sli2+ motherboard. 2 gb of corsair pc 6400 800 mhz ram. 2 EVGA 8800 gtxs in sli.

Most E6600s seem to pull around 3.4ghz with some good steppings reaching 3.6ghz. I'd say you'd be more limited by the chip or you're memory personally.

Are you running the fsb and memory in unlinked mode? (a bonus for the 680i for some overclockers).

at 1600/800fsb, at 3.6gig .
Clocks set at manual, 4-4-4-10-14, T2.
Set your ram voltage to 2.15vlts.
Set you CPU voltage as high as it will run in you bios before
the voltage is highlighted in red. If your red, probably won't boot.
Set all of your board voltages the same way.
If you have turned all that other crap off that you don't need in your bios
you should be able to run this stable all day long.
If your water cooled its a piece of cake.
