    Hi guys...:wave

Does anyone know of a free email marketing software? I'm promoting my company. Right now I am sending an email to potential clients and "attaching" an "e-flyer" in .pdf format, but the recipient has to download the attachment. I want the e-flyer to open when they open my email. I've found several companies I could pay...but I'm having a serious cash flow problem! :cry!

You guys have always come through for me, from simple "how to" questions to a complete crash and rebuild of my PC. Hope you can help here.

Any help again will be greatly appreciated!

you could just create yourself a mailing list by putting those potential clients in groups and sending out a newletter every week or so.

personally, I use the mailing program within Quickbooks; it costs a little but it makes the mass mailing process a bit easier.

Thanks thomas...but I need a program to create an "e-flyer". I can create "groups" for a mailing list in my MSOL account.

    Hi

While I think of a workaround for you on this email flyer, one quick question is that is the email flyer a one page or multiple pages doc?

If its a one page then a quick workaround is to screenshot the PDF (Open the PDF and in acrobat click Tools > Select & Zoom > Snapshot and click the page then open MS Paint and click edit > Paste *if older version or just Paste if Vista/Win7 version, then save) and embed the image into a Outlook email (with Insert > Picture), I tend to do this in work for multiple user emails of protocol docs of important sections that need editing as I can annotate easier in Paint.

    Any help with this? rolleyes

    Thanks!

Okay...now this is the error message I'm receiving when I try to send an email:

"The host 'SMTP' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'POP3', Server: 'SMTP', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D"

Please...I really need to get this email flyer out ASAP.:cry

Yes, you probably need to go to your IP's website and see how they want you to handle the POP3 settings.

    Hi DavidGP,

It's "larry@lsrepairs.com". I have a Microsoft Office Live account, which comes with an email address. Is that what you needed...or my service provider? My service provider is Verizon.

    I'm using Outlook Express 6.

You should be able to go to Verizon's website and check that you have configured your mail server correctly.

    Hi

Just so I have this in my head and correct, you have an Office Live account which allows you to create a website and a domain (URL, Web address) and also gives you an email account off that domain?

Ah ok Outlook Express, I thought from the MSOL reference it was Office Outlook, personally as Outlook Express (MSOE) is outdated it would be tempted to get Windows Live Mail and also install the Outlook Connector

and I hope I have this correct, weirdly I have an OfficeLiveBusiness account that was in limbo, likely was part of the beta phase of this as I get invites to all sorts of apps etc, but what you need to do is to login to your @lsrepairs.com account HERE as its linked to your Live ID (you maybe asked to change your password or not, I was) then once logged in your adccount should be active now.

Install as I mentioned Windows Live Mail and the Outlook Connector (the connector may not be needed but not worth the chance).

Then in Windows Live Mail click the Accounts Tab

    http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/6275/25056592.jpg

then click the Email + icon the first one in the image above, then type your email address, the one you posted above into the top box, followed by your password, also click the remember this password box, the Default Account one is a personal preference and click Next

    http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/6653/89439219.jpg

Then in the Server Type dropdown choose Windows Live Hotmail (this is the server you will be using as you dont have a personal Server or Server host of your own, your using Micrsoft's servers) then add the name you want associated with your emails, basically who they are off, then click Next

    http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/1493/85741375.jpg

Once you click Next your should get a verification that the email account is setup ok, (it may take a few seconds or so to download the folders from the server) then just send and recieve.

Email Settings for Outlook and Outlook Express as well as other email clients HERE

The POP settings for the Live Email Service are below but I feel the above steps for WLM should work for you fine, they work for my account ok.

Server Type = POP3 or POP
POP (incoming host) server: pop3.live.com Sever Port 995
    POP SSL required? Yes
Password = password you setup for your email account
SMTP (outgoing host) server: smtp.live.com Server Port 25 (Sometimes port 25 is blocked by your ISP, if so then try port 587
    Authentication required? Yes
    TLS/SSL required? Yes

One other thing is depending on the number of emails your 'spamming' your ISP / Mail provider may shut you down. That is where mass e-mailers come into play. They will stagger out the messages so your not spamming & they can be used to personalize each message. That prevents each reciever from seeing everyone else you've sent the email to. Thus protecting your potential customer base.

Hello again...why, oh why does everything I do on this PC turn into a nightmare? :cry

Yes, I have an Office Live account. I've had it for a while, and already have a website and domain, along with 2 email accounts associated with it. My OL home page looks nothing like the one in your post.

So then I tried going with the other info:
Going that route I get the same error messages as in the beginning.:(

I never felt stupid until I got a computer!!
