there was a song mid-90s (?) with a driving riff and lyrics something like:

"Shake it up now...with the feelshank brothers
Wake it up now...with the feelshank lovers"

i say "something like" b/c i obviously don't have it close enuf to find on GOOGLE!

i dunno if it was considered "rap" per se, but the "melody" consisted of little more than those 2 lines repeated ad nauseum. and yet, it was addictive beyond words.

can anyone recognize this from my paltry description? i wanna download it!

dunno how i failed to find it, googling every known combo of "shake it up now", "wake it up now", "turn it up now", and "crank it up now" crossed with "brothers", "lovers" and "mothers"....

of course "check it out now" wasn't on my list.... :cry

btw, my "feelshank" looks like a mile away (not to mention odd), but if you just swap the syllable guts, you get "fanksheel"...which is really not all that far off!

says something about the human memory.

i will reciprocate. on the off chance u don't know "boom shack a lak" (apache indian, UK), it is in the same vein.

humongous hit worldwide, but not so much in the US. unless u count soundtracks....

 

Yeah that one is great, “boom shack a lak” rates up there with “Ooga Chaka Ooga Ooga” (Blue Swede - Hooked On A Feeling)

Carrying on with the Indian and soundtrack references, the film Inside Man has the uplifting "Chaiyya Chaiyya Bollywood Joint"

Chaiyya Chaiyya was originally featured in the 1998 Hindi film Dil Se (haven't seen it but I want to)
