eBAY GUY SCREWED ME-HELP FOR DELL LAPTOP

Hi Everybody
I bought a Dell Latitude Laptop from ebay. But it doesn't boots up even. When I plug in the AC & press start button, it starts up as evident from noise of fans inside but nothing comes on display. Then just after 5 sec it just turns off dead..

Where could be the problem??. Is it a motherboard problem, or battery or power supply

I bought it for $400 and now I can't even trace the seller as such. Plz help me

Can you boot to a floppy or a bootable cd rom? Can you get into the BIOS? Try F2 or F12 while booting. If not then it is likely your mobo or processor.

I had this happen on an Inspiron and it was the mobo. Still under waranty so i got it replaced for nothing. Not under waranty your looking at anywhere from $150 to $300 for the board then you gotta install it. Not cool.

 

You hear fan run for few seconds,and tries to boot, Your getting power, Then shuts down, Does AC adaptor have green lite lit, on the laptop is probably three led's, do any lite up or flash??
Battery if bad would not prevent boot up, if AC adaptor was pluged in.
You can test battery remove from laptop and there should be test button and five leds push test button and one or more should lite, one is low bat, five is full charge, none is dead or bad battery.

What model of Dell Latitude is this?
What windows OS is suppose to be loaded if any?
Can you access Bios?
What drive's do you have: floppy, cd, dvd?

Answer these questions, I will try to assist, maybe someone else will also post up some help.
I just picked up a used Dell Latitude couple weeks ago (works good), been doing alittle research on em.
If turns out cant fix, or costs too much, I may be interested in parts from it.
