Editing and Creating

Can someone tell me what programs they know or use.. For just pretty much editing things.. like photoshop or paint or flash of some sort.. anything and everything is welcome.. I wanted to get into learning and editing and making cool stuff I see on the net.

 

Being more specific in your objectives would be helpful. Do you want to create Flash content like what's seen on websites? Do want to make animated .gif images? Do you want to do video editing? I'm not the export on these areas but I think more such details will help others help you.

 

I am no expert to what to call all the things lol.. I see people taking normal pictures and making killer editing pictures out of em. *face palm to head*:-o

Is there anything like for flash, images, photoshop, I hear and read about people using alot of adobe flash, adobe photoshop and adobe flash.. they that good? Or they just the ones to use..? More cool programs to make and create pictures or items, anything to look and get good with.

 

Adobe is the standard as far as what they do. They are also extremely expensive for casual users. These are the freeware equivalents:

Adobe Photoshop - GIMP

I got a question. Don't know if anyone knows but.. on gimp.. I download the one form the site link provided. And when I go into the tutorials from the site gimp.org Where it says begginer and etc..I read there stuff on how stuff should "pop up" for you and have this info on it.. But really I don't get that pop up.. and on some things (I think I see something like it in the bottom left corner) .. kinda asking why don't mine look like theres?
