Back in 2013 Elon Musk spoke about a Tesla pickup truck. And he had great aspirations.

    Perhaps it is wishful thinking...

Ford, not taking the reference to it's F-150 lightly, has since released a fully functional prototype of an electric pickup truck. The company is also considering a hybrid model.

    And just for fun...

The sorts of places I would be using a pickup truck don't have power and if they do it is only solar power for lighting........

I have a Ford F-150 '7700' series (look it up ) now for a work/personal truck. Driven all weekdays. It is a propane/gas model. '02 model and is as good a work truck as I need. Will last longer than I have left to work. Valued now around 5-6K in this area. The price difference to a new one is killer as it is in most new vehicles. At our age, a dependable 8-9k$ of any kind is more than enough for a vehicle that is not going to be used enough to get the money out of it. For the difference in price I could buy another piece of land with a pond on it and stock some fish. That would be something I could get more use and pleasure out of.

And the fact that there is a serious lack of chargers anywhere close to this area. Yeah there is a couple/3 down at the courthouse if you want to sit there for a while. Hopefully you'll be close when you really need it!

Yes and electric is in my thoughts for next car but not a pick-up as not useful for me and not great for UK small roads, but I like the idea and one I have followed is this https://rivian.com/r1t/
    Looks epic and goes!

Torn still on electric car, toss up currently with VW T-Roc R (petrol) or the Electric BMW i3 more leaning for next 2yrs ownership of the T-ROC R and see what comes in 2yrs as tech will advance in electric.
