Electronic organizer

I'm looking for a hand-held electronic organizer on the order of a Palm Pilot. I'm told that Palm Pilot is an antique that no longer is supported, and does not work with more modern computers. I'd like a device that would have a To Do list, address book and calendar as the basics, plus any other features that would come with it. I know this sounds like an iPad, but those are too big and too costly for me. My dream device would fit in a shirt pocket or pants pocket. I'm not looking for a smart phone. Any ideas? Thanks.

 

If you carry a cell phone, I'd look for an upgraded model.

You do not have to spend big bucks on an iPhone or Android model. Something along the lines of the Samsung Galaxy (AT&T, although almost identical models are available from other carriers) has a slide-out keyboard and all the features you're looking for. On a two year contract (or upgrade after 2 years), models like this are often free and usually don't require an upgrade to a "data plan".

If you don't have (or don't want) a cell phone contract, many prepaid phones with these features are available as low as $50 at Wal-Mart, Cricket & T-Mobile. Even if you run out of or don't purchase prepaid airtime, the other features (organizer, to-do list, etc.) will still work. Most models also allow you to do backups and a limited degree of sync with your PC.
