Emachine laptop hinges broken..!

Hello,

I have a M5405 Emachine, never had any problem and worked just fine, but now the hinges are cracking and can not closed it.
A while ago heard that there was a recall (2007) on this Emachine series regarding overheating and defective hinges. I have search around but no more info. I did register my laptop with Emachines when I got it over four years ago, they never contact me about this problem.
If anyone knows about this? help please?
I have been looking for the parts and I can not find them either....

I get the impression from what I read that they did not issue any recall notices to buyers of affected PCs but left the buyer to call up once they had a broken hinge, have you called Emachines to see if they are willing to replace the broken and known to be faulty part?

Very quick search and somewhere like this may have the parts you need http://www.notebookparts.com/ and if not email them they maybe able to get them.

Well, I will approach Emachines tomorrow and will see what happens ?? This is my second computer with them and was pretty happy, never had problems with customer support or anything like that, but will see tomorrow.
I am in Germany now, hope this will not create a problem if they agree to fix the laptop.
I will let you know if I need the parts.
